Microsoft may have disappointed many of it fans when it botched the release of Windows 10 Mobile last week, the company still wants to remind us that its flagship Lumias running Windows 10 are great. A video on the Microsoft Lumia YouTube channel shows us how developer, entrepreneur and Microsoft MVP Sebastiano Galazzo uses the Uber app on his Lumia 950 to explore new cities and indulge his passion for street photography.

In the video, the proud Lumia 950 owner shares:

“One time in San Francisco, I discovered Uber and it was great because it allowed me to move from one place to another in a short space of time. I use it when I travel because I have the opportunity to take pictures of buildings, city scape and people very quickly. I was inspired by my love of photography so I created an app using all my knowledge about image processing.”

While the Lumia 950 is an excellent phone for shooting beautiful photos (a National Geographic photographer even used one to take pictures underwater) or noisy concert videos, we can’t really say the same about the Uber experience on Windows platforms. It’s great that the Uber app is now a Universal Windows 10 app available on both PCs and phones, it’s still not as full-featured as both the iOS and Android versions. Heck, Uber didn’t even take the time to update it with its new brand identity and logo on our beloved platform yet.

However, the Uber Windows 10 app can still claim some exclusive features such as a handy Cortana integration to ask for a ride using simple commands as well as a live tile that displays an ETA for your ride. It’s been nearly two months since the app received an update that brought “significant” stability improvements, so we hope that the team will push the app to next level in future updates. If you use the Uber app on your Windows phone, please share your experience with us in the comments.
