Microsoft fans have been patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for today’s big event. Earlier this morning Microsoft took the stage for almost two hours ushering in a new era of Windows devices. Microsoft streamed their launch event live this morning and now the presentation is available to watch on-demand.
There were quite a few announcements made today. The presentation began with Microsoft announcing over 110 million Windows 10 installs in just eight weeks. We are then given a very interesting look at the HoloLens with Project XRay. The presentation then went into the introduction of the Microsoft Band 2 and the numerous improvements made to the fitness and health device.
From here, Microsoft formally presented the very much leaked Lumia 950 and 950XL. We were fortunate enough to receive a demonstration of continuum for Windows 10 mobile and a brief demo of the iris scanner on these devices, however. Microsoft then swiftly moves into the announcement of the Surface Pro 4. Although this device was very impressive, the Surface Book stole the show. Although rumors indicated we might see two sizes for the Surface Pro 4, instead we were given a hybrid laptop/tablet that’s lack of leaks made for a truly great presentation of a technological marvel.
Were you able to tune in for the presentation this morning or are you planning to sit back with a bowl of popcorn and relive the magic?
