It seems like we find new things everyday in Microsoft’s upcoming Anniversary Update for Windows 10: this time, it’s a couple of enterprise-focused virtualization tools, reports ZDNet.

Specifically, the tools in question are Microsoft’s application-virtualization client (App-V) and User Environment Virtualization (UE-V), which will be bundled in the Enterprise and Education versions of Windows 10, as part of the Anniversary update. The information was reportedly mentioned in a webinar earlier this year, before being confirmed with an official blog post from Microsoft yesterday.

App-V and UE-V are part of Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP), a suite of virtualization and management tools for business customers, that come with the Software Assurance contracts, or as add-ons to Intune. The inclusion of these two components into Anniversary Update will reduce the hassle of separate deployment for enterprises. All other components will remain part of MDOP.

If your organization is running App-V and UE-V on Windows 10 Pro, however, things may get a bit more complicated.  Apparently, starting with the Anniversary update, all future updates to these two clients will be reserved only for Windows 10 Enterprise and Education, meaning that you’ll need to upgrade.
