As we continue to tinker with the leaked Windows 10 build 10056, we’re seeing refinements all throughout the operating system. Microsoft has added a new Recycle Bin icon, as well as new personalization options.
Let’s start with the new personalization options in Windows 10 build 10056. Microsoft has organized this area of the Settings app, allowing you to set your background while looking at a preview of how it would look. You can choose a picture, a solid color, or a slideshow. You can also choose how you want the picture to fit and quickly access related settings via the old Control Panel.
You can adjust the color as well with several new color choices compared to previous versions of Windows. If you look at the image below, you can see new color choices and better organization of the color options.Â
You can set the following options to either “on” or “off” depending on your needs: Automatically pick a color from my background; Show color on taskbar and Start menu; and Make Start menu transparent.Â
Basically, you can set the color scheme of your theme based on the wallpaper you have set. You can also show color on your taskbar, Start Menu, and Notification center, or keep it dark. You can also make the Start menu/Start screen transparent or a solid color.
Windows 10 build 10056 also allows you to change your Lock screen settings, as well as a quick access to your themes (which currently re-routes you to the theme settings in the old Control Panel).
Well look at that! A new Recycle Bin icon. As you can see from the examples above, Microsoft has changed up the Recycle Bin icon yet again. The new transparent, 3D’ish icon actually looks decent and resembles the old Recycle Bin icon from Windows 95. Will this be the final look for the Recycle Bin? Who knows. Microsoft may change it up again depending on feedback. One thing is for sure, the community was outraged with the previous icon and Microsoft listened!
