Windows 10

The Windows Insider project has been something of a triumph for Microsoft. Involving users in the process of shaping their future operating system, it simultaneously allows for greater clarity in the development process and ensuring that future developments will be comparatively well-received by the public.

And after the reception of Windows 8 by the general population, this approach is hardly surprising.

Once again, the Windows Insiders have spoken, Opacity and Blur effect sliders for themes are what they want. User “Ron” states,

“Aesthetics matter. Please add a personalization option to allow users to adjust the opacity as well as the blur effect of any Windows theme (i.e. Modern, Aero, Dark, etc).

This creates a unique user experience that provides a level of sophistication to the Windows OS.

Examples of where effects would be applied: taskbar, title bars, contextual menus, Cortana background, Action/Notification Center background, etc.”

The suggestion has almost 2,000 votes and lots of enthusiastic comments, including “Ultra-need. as of now”, and “Hey, we need this! —– nuff said”.

As part of the wider beautification options that have become available through builds of Windows 10, it is quite likely that such a thing could become available, although there is always room for doubt.
