microsoft release Build 19045.4116 for Windows 10 insiders

While we all focussed on the latest changes to Windows 11, Microsoft quietly rolled out Build 19045.4116 (KB5034843) for Windows 10 insiders. It came as a surprise to many, given that Microsoft seems to be extensively focused on the latest iteration.

In the insider build, Microsoft has released two new features for Windows 10, as well as several patches for previously known bugs.

Here are the new features:

  • You now have Desktop Spotlight added to the Windows 10 desktop.
  • Microsoft will also allow you to share links via WhatsApp, Gmail, Facebook, and LinkedIn using Windows Share. X (formerly Twitter) will be added to the list soon. The quick share feature was recently released in Windows 11.

As for the bug patches:

  • An issue with the Azure Virtual Desktop session has been rectified
  • Installed games will remain on the secondary drive from now on
  • Fixes UI issues in Microsoft Edge
  • Eliminate problems with Windows Hello for Business
  • Fixes issues with the Japanese Input Method Editor
  • Addresses certain problems with Remote Desktop Web Authentication.
