Yesterday, we posed the question, “Do you prefer the slow ring or fast ring?” This question deals with Microsoft’s Windows 10 Technical Preview for Windows Insider participants. For those who are not sure what the difference between a slow ring and a fast ring, head over here for an explanation.
So, which ring is popular? According to Microsoft’s Gabriel Aul, the fast ring is about 10% the size of slow ring. It is also exactly what Microsoft was hoping to see. So what exactly does this mean? This simply means that those who are beta testing Windows 10, only 10% of them want to be on the bleeding edge with the fast ring of updates. Or perhaps, they are unaware of the ability to switch between the slow and fast ring.
The results of our poll show that the majority of WinBeta readers prefer to be in the fast ring. There are still a few that prefer to be in the slow ring. This is not surprising, as our readers want to be on the bleeding edge of what Microsoft has to offer.
You can see the tweet below. Do you think Microsoft should expand the slow/fast ring of updates to other services? Should app developers have the ability to roll out a slow or fast ring of app updates?
@ZacB_ Fast ring is about 10% the size of Slow ring. This is exactly what we hoped to see.
