WhatsApp Windows Share

Microsoft just released KB5033453 to the Beta Channel within the Windows Insider Program, and the package is quite small, with just a few features, here and there.

However, the Redmond-based tech giant added an important improvement to its Windows Share feature, which can be used in Windows 11 to easily share files. Windows Share now supports WhatsApp, and the platform will appear as an option to choose from the sharing files through the capability.

The Windows share window now supports sharing with WhatsApp under the “Share using” section. If you don’t have WhatsApp installed, you can choose to install it from Windows share window directly. Over time, we plan to try this experience out with other apps as well.

The capability is not entirely new, however. Earlier this year, Microsoft added a similar feature to Windows 11, allowing users to easily share links on the apps they use the most, and when we tried it, it allowed us to share the links on WhatsApp as well.

For those of you who are already familiar with that feature, using this one works pretty much the same. However, for now, the feature is in the Beta Channel, so it will take a while until it’s released on the stable Windows 11.
