Windows 11 Advanced Camera Options

As we reported a while ago, Microsoft intended to enhance Windows 11 by allowing users to give access to their cameras to multiple apps simultaneously.

This enhancement was first teased in August 2024, but it is now available to Windows Insiders of the latest Release Preview Channel build, which means it’s close to being generally available.

Spotted by tech enthusiast @phantomofearth, and confirmed by Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc, the feature was released together with another set of options for the camera, that allows users to fix it when it’s not behaving properly.

The new Advanced Camera Options in Windows 11 should make it easier for Windows 11 to quickly solve any issues related with the malfunction of this device.
