Dona Sarkar, the energetic and charismatic head of the Windows Insider Program, is moving on to a new role at Microsoft. Sarkar succeeded to Gabe Aul back in June 2016, and the Microsoft veteran announced today that she’ll be joining the Microsoft Developer Relations team to lead advocacy for Microsoft’s Power Platform ((Microsoft Flow, PowerApps, Power BI).

“Currently, we are conducting a search for a new leader of the Windows Insider Program,” wrote Eran Megiddo, CVP of Windows and Education today. “In the meantime, I and the Insider crew (including Brandon, Jennifer, Blair, Jason, Vivek, Eddie) look forward to continuing to engage with you each week as we ship new builds.”
Dona Sarkar left quite a big mark on the Windows Insider program over the years. She launched the #Insiders4Good initiative, aiming to help Insiders around the world to solve problems creatively with Microsoft products. The Windows Insider team also increased engagement with Insiders under her leadership, especially with the regular Windows Insider webcasts on Mixer.
In addition to her work at Redmond, Sarkar is also an author and fashion designer. We wish her all the best in her new role at Microsoft, and we’re looking forward to see who Microsoft will chose as new leader of the Windows Insider Program.
