When Xbox introduced Compact Mode to the gaming platform’s PC app and handheld Windows consoles last year, it promised to enhance the mode’s experience in the coming months.

Now, there are going to be two major additions: a Jump Back In feature and seamless access to the Friends Panel, according to Xbox’s official blog.

With the Jump Back In feature, you will be able to quickly view recently played games in Compact Mode. It will list the last nine recently played games at the top of the screen. Tap on any to open the title’s Game Hub, or right-click and start playing it right away!

As for the Friends Panel, you will be able to quickly access it via the sidebar, much like how you open the notifications. Xbox has confirmed plans to introduce more enhancements to the Friends Panel in Compact Mode in future updates.

The two new additions, Jump Back In and an easily accessible Friends Panel, are currently being rolled out to Xbox Insiders in the PC Gaming Preview. Based on the initial feedback, developers will decide on a future course of action.

To leave feedback, you could wait until next week when a survey is released in the Xbox Insider Hub, available for download from the Microsoft Store, or use the Xbox PC app itself.
