Xbox has announced the launch of the Support Virtual Agent, a new AI feature designed to help Xbox users resolve their support-related issues more efficiently.
In a blog post, Xbox says the Support Virtual Agent can quickly retrieve information from support.xbox.com to address questions related to Xbox consoles and games. Initially, the feature was available to Xbox Insiders in the United States, with English as their preferred language. They can start testing the Support Virtual Agent by visiting support.xbox.com while signing in to an account registered with the Xbox Insider Program.
Xbox is seeking feedback from insiders trying out the Support Virtual Agent. Participating users can rate the agent’s responses using a thumbs-up or thumbs-down button and provide feedback directly via an “Give feedback” option at the bottom of the page.
To access the Support Virtual Agent, Xbox Insiders must navigate to the “Contact us” page on support.xbox.com, sign in with their Xbox Insider Program account, and click the “Ask a question” button. The Support Virtual Agent will then launch in a new browser window, enabling users to ask questions via text or voice.
If the Support Virtual Agent can’t resolve the problem, users can request to speak with a live support agent during Xbox Support’s regular hours of operation.
During the preview, Xbox Insiders can switch between two different Support Virtual Agents using a menu accessible via an ellipsis icon.
The feature is being rolled out to select Xbox Insiders on support.xbox.com starting November 4, 2024.
To facilitate the launch of the Support Virtual Agent, Xbox Insiders are encouraged to join the Xbox Insider subreddit, where Xbox staff, moderators, and fellow Insiders are available to answer questions.
Xbox Insiders can also submit feedback about the program and its features via the Xbox Insider Hub app.
In other news, Xbox now lets users search for games using Natural Language. That means you can describe the games you want to play using any words you want, and Xbox will take your input and show you recommendations.
