Earlier this month, we reported that the Windows 10 Anniversary Update would soon bring background music on the Xbox One. As the feature had been previously implemented on the Xbox 360, background music has been one of the most asked features on the next generation gaming console, to say the least.

According to a new report from Windows Central, Microsoft is currently teasing a “new app experience” on the Groove Music app on the Xbox One that will include background music playback. Twitter user Christian Schröer shared a picture of the announcement yesterday:

This new Groove Music app may well be available to members of the Xbox One Preview programs before the public roll out of the Anniversary Update in August. Over the last few days, Microsoft has been delivering several new Xbox One Preview builds to members of the program, and we also reported this morning that the UWP MSN Weather app was one of the first UWP apps to appear on the Xbox One. We’ll let you know as soon as we learn more about this new background music experience on the gaming console, in the meantime let us know in the comments if you’re can’t wait to get the feature on your Xbox One.
