The news for Xbox fans has been flying fast a furiously this week. Starting off the week, Microsoft’s Xbox division announced Xbox games are coming to PCs, a new update to the Windows 10 Xbox app bringing new features was released, and pre-order information became available for the hotly anticipated Quantum Break game.
The latest announcement for the Xbox One now brings the first two Dead Island games, originally crafted for the Xbox 360, to Microsoft’s newest console. In what gaming studio Deep Silver has dubbed the Dead Island Definitive Collection, Xbox One and Playstation 4 gamers can now get a bundled Dead Island experience May 31, 2016.
The DIDC is being touted as a full remastering of the first two games, Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, as well as a third, less fidelity-intensive game titled Dead Island Retro Revenge. While the previous two Dead Islands are known quantities to fans, this third game is a bit of a departure from the traditional gaming formats of the others. Dead Island Retro Revenge is being touted as a 16-bit, conventional side scroller with an endless runner twist on the Dead Island environment.
Those who pick up the DIDC will also be treated to all of the downloadable content and patches that have been released for the game. For anyone looking for a new zombie action game to try, it seems that Deep Silver’s Dead Island Definitive Collection is more than worth the investment, as it contains years of development and gaming content as well as additional canon to its universe.
