The Xbox Series X|S has reached a significant milestone in the U.K., having sold 2 million of Microsoft’s current-gen consoles there. The 2 million units sold mark comes 128 weeks after the Series X|S launched there.
The feat is all the more impressive when one considers that it took the Nintendo Switch (which has gone on to become one of the best-selling game systems ever) 12 weeks longer to accomplish the same. Comparatively, the Xbox 360 took 110 weeks to sell 2 million in the U.K., while the Xbox One reached the mark in 104 weeks.
Sony’s PlayStation 5 hit 2 million units sold in the U.K. back in October last year.
Late last year we reported that the Xbox Series X|S was one of the most popular consoles in the U.K. last year. The more affordable (and then more available) Series S was responsible for much of that success. But it’s good to see the Xbox’s success carry over there into 2023.
