Sea of Thieves, the pirate adventure from Rare Studios is one of the most anticipated Xbox exclusives Microsoft has in the pipeline for 2018. Back at E3 2017, the company revelead that the game would be optimized for the Xbox One X with support for 4K graphics and HDR, something that should be standard for all Microsoft Studios titles going forward.

In a new behind the scenes video published yesterday, Rare’s Engineering team shared more details about enhancing Sea of Thieves for Xbox One X (via Windows Central). Good news, the game will run in native 4K on the new console, with no dynamic scaling like on some other Xbox One X enhanced titles. “For the most part, it should be on par with our ultra specs PC settings,” the team shared.

The developers didn’t say if Xbox One X owners will be able to test the 4K graphics during an upcoming Technical Alpha play session, though we hope that it will be the case. The game is still expected to be released in early 2018, and it will also support cross-play multiplayer between Xbox One and Windows 10.
