Meta Threads has teamed up with Microsoft to produce official Xbox and Halo-themed masks. Each mask is FDA registered for casual protection against most airborne particles and is completely washable and reusable.
At $19.95, the Xbox and Halo masks do come in on the pricier side of the spectrum but each sale will also support the #GamersMask4Masks Campaign which will fund the creation of two medical-grade masks to hospitals, medical facilities, and front line workers. Unlike the Halo Infinite video game, these Halo masks will come out this year and are promised to ship within two to three days of your order being placed.
Meta Thread masks inspired by the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) video game are also available.
Masks have become a bit of a hot item in recent months as more regions initiate mandatory mask-wearing rules to help combat the spread of COVID-19. While disposable masks are available, more people seem to be opting for reusable ones that can help express their personality or add some style when they need to leave their homes for groceries or work.
Here in Melbourne for example, we’re currently in a Stage 4 lockdown due to recent massive spikes in COVID-19 numbers and, while I initially started using disposable masks, I recently purchased some approved reusable ones (these ones here) as a way to be less wasteful and look a little more approachable in public while I protect others from a potentially lethal virus.
