Surprising almost nobody, there will most likely not be a free Kinect adapter coming with the Xbox One X. The news came out with a tweet earlier in the week, in which Aaron Greenberg addressed the issue in a roundabout way. Greenberg answered the question by referencing a program run for most of last year, in which Kinect adapters were issued for free.
We provided free adapters for a good part of last year following X1S launch, but that program has ended.

The Kinect has been all but phased out after its nearly immediate failure after launch, so this shouldn’t be a huge shock to anybody. You probably can’t expect to see any more Kinect-enabled games coming, so an adapter like this will most likely not be making an impact either way. If you really need one of these peripherals, they should be available on their own for a pretty small pice.
