007 First Light's Opening Mission Footage Officially Released After Leaks Surface Online

If you are waiting for 007 First Light, chances are that you already saw clips floating around online this weekend. For those unaware, 007 First Light officially launches on May 27 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. However, some players reportedly managed to get physical copies of the game early, which quickly led to gameplay footage leaking across social media and YouTube. At the time of writing this, the leaked video has been taken down after a copyright claim by IO Interactive A/S.

IO Interactive uploads official opening mission after leaks spread online

Rather than pretending it never happened, IO Interactive decided to flip the situation completely. The studio has now officially uploaded the opening 13 minutes of the game itself, basically telling fans that if spoilers are already out there, you might as well watch the official version.

The newly official footage shows Bond surviving a helicopter crash before sinking deep into the ocean. From there, the sequence shifts into underwater escape sections followed by stealth-heavy gameplay that honestly gives strong Metal Gear Solid vibes.

Players sneak through enemy patrols, crawl across hostile areas, and slowly work through what appears to be the game’s opening infiltration mission. IO Interactive also warned fans to stay away if they want to experience everything fresh on launch day. That being said, the studio clearly wanted to regain control of the conversation after leaked clips started spreading online.

In addition to leaks, 007 First Light has already sparked discussion because of its version of James Bond. Unlike the older and more polished Bond many fans are used to, this game focuses on a younger version of the character played by Irish actor Patrick Gibson. The story reportedly follows his rise from military recruit to full 007 agent.
