If you are currently on Windows Vista (and I am sorry for you), and you heard of Windows 10 and you find it an interesting proposal, you’ll probably may want to switch to it. So, rest assured, this will be possible.

Windows 10 won’t require different hardware specifications from Windows 8.1, Windows 8, so this means you will be able to run it without any issues on your current computer, tablet, laptop or hybrid. And this is the same for previous operating systems, as well.

If you recall, Windows 8 ran on the same hardware as Windows 7, which ran on the same hardware as Windows Vista. So, this means that Windows 10 will run without any problems on any machine that has been built in the past 5 years, which I guess includes your Windows Vista laptop or desktop machine.

Windows 10 system requirements are as follows:

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor
  • at least 1 GB of RAM for the 32-bit and 2GB for the 64-bit version
  • 16 GB of free space

Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, and Windows Vista Ultimate require 1 GB of RAM for both 32- and 64-bit configurations, and 15 GB of free space.
