After in-app games, LinkedIn is testing a TikTok-like video feed in its app

LinkedIn is testing a vertical video feed feature in its app similar to TikTok. With this experiment, the popular networking platform moves in the direction of numerous short-form video apps like YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram, and more.

An Instagram employee Jenny Eishingdrelo shared a screenshot on the Threads app showcasing LinkedIn’s experimental video feed feature. Also, an influencer marketing executive, Austin Null, shared a video where a separate video feed is visible in the app. 

Expect more professional and careers-related videos in the LinkedIn video feed

LinkedIn’s vertical video feed will focus on careers and professionalism rather than the different types of videos you generally see on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube. While one can think that the video posting feature has been on LinkedIn for many years now, this one is different.

The new feature will allow users to scroll vertically to move between posted videos, similar to TikTok and Instagram Reels. You can also post short videos in the video feed and have better chances of getting more views and engagement.

The new experiment is no surprise because LinkedIn has been trying new trendy features for a while now. How can we forget the experimental disappearing story feature discontinued in less than a year? More recently, we covered a story about LinkedIn experimenting with in-app games. 

That’s not all, LinkedIn could also introduce monetization features for the video feed, just like other apps. The move could be an encouraging factor for content creators out there to share informative videos on the networking platform. Moreover, TechCrunch reported that LinkedIn confirmed the tests, but there is no official release date for now.

All that said, there’s a different side to this story. There are a few users who are expressing concerns about the new addition. Time will tell how well people will receive LinkedIn’s video feed feature once it goes live across the globe.
