LinkedIn is bringing in-app games to boost user engagement

According to a recent report, LinkedIn games will soon debut as an attempt to boost user interaction and engagement. LinkedIn is a Microsoft-owned social and professional networking platform with over a billion users. The platform primarily allows users to create professional profiles, share knowledge, build connections, and find jobs.

LinkedIn is undoubtedly a super platform for finding your dream job. And now, LinkedIn is looking to break into a new horizon of gaming that it believes will boost the time users spend on the platform. So, what are LinkedIn games?

LinkedIn games will soon give boring job search experiences a playful twist

A recent report from TechCrunch confirms that LinkedIn is working on a new gaming experience. It will do so by introducing three in-app puzzle games: Queens, Inference, and Crossclimb.

One such person, Nima Owji, recently tweeted some images of the games. And, mentioned LinkedIn is working towards an idea where firms will rank in the games based on their employees’ scores.

TechCrunch reached out to a LinkedIn spokesperson to confirm the speculation. In reply, the source mentioned:

We’re playing with adding puzzle-based games within the LinkedIn experience to unlock a bit of fun, deepen relationships, and hopefully spark the opportunity for conversations.

The spokesperson also shared some screenshots of the games and added that images of games on X (formerly Twitter) are not of the latest version. Moreover, the spokesperson refused to mention Microsoft’s involvement in LinkedIn’s gaming project.
