In celebration of “Day of the Girl,” a day marked by the United Nations to highlight the inequality of education for girls, Skype and Michelle Obama will be hosting a global Skype call, as announced on the Skype Blog.

The call will be jointly hosted by both Skype TX and Glamour Magazine, where the call will be joined by First Lady Michelle Obama, in conjunction with Glamour Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Cindi Leive. The topic of discussion will be around the inequality of girls’ education across the world.

Actress and activist Yara Shahidi will also be joining from the Newseum, Washington D.C, with a group of 150 school-aged girls from groups such as The Girl Project and Let Girls Learn. Girls from several countries, such as Tanzania, Peru, Jordan and the UK will be on-board with the call, in order to “share the experiences and challenges they face in obtaining quality education.”

It will start on Tuesday, October 11, at 11:15am EST. To watch the livestream, follow Skype’s Facebook and Twitter social channels, as well as keep your eye on WinBeta!
