Microsoft and Huawei have signed a memorandum of understanding which will bring Microsoft’s enterprise apps over to the HUAWEI CLOUD. Although Huawei is already providing Windows Server and Microsoft RDS for SQL Server, Microsoft at the moment is not detailing which specific enterprise apps will be coming to the HUAWEI CLOUD in the months ahead.
According to reports, under the memorandum of understanding, Microsoft and Huawei will “initiate in-depth cooperation on the public cloud,” build an “open and win-win ecosystem” while also planning joint market expansion and market sharing activities. Huawei is also hoping that the two companies will be able to drive innovation in the market, while also helping provide “optimal experience of cloud services for enterprises.”
In the words of Microsoft China CEO Alain Crozier:
“As a global leader in enterprise IT, Huawei is a strategic partner for Microsoft in the mission to empower organisations as they transform…Â Our increased collaboration will drive innovation as we build a seamless platform to benefit customers through industry-leading technology. Together, we are confident that we will lead, and win, in the era of digital transformation.”
The cloud is where the money is at for Microsoft, as Intelligent Cloud services netted the company a $7.4 billion profit, up 11% from last year. With Microsoft’s enterprise apps becoming more and more popular, the company will no doubt see the benefits from this latest collaboration.
