Copilot for LinkedIn might get more features

It seems LinkedIn, a member of the Microsoft family since its acquisition in 2016, is next in line to get a taste of this AI magic. Well, in fact, Microsoft already implemented Copilot in LinkedIn since their announcement in January. However, according to an internal document discovered by Business Insider, Microsoft has bigger plans with Copilot on LinkedIn.

How is Microsoft going to change Copilot’s functions in LinkedIn?

Microsoft already presented Copilots that are powered by AI in services such as GitHub, Security and Azure with the goal to automate tasks and make our digital life a little simpler. However, the reference to LinkedIn in this setting is intriguing as it hints that Microsoft may be preparing to elevate the AI abilities of this platform. Think about having an AI helper for writing posts, sales and hiring on LinkedIn. Sounds pretty handy, right?

Over time, Microsoft has been adding more artificial intelligence features to this platform. The idea of a LinkedIn Copilot appears to be quite an advancement in their plans. This has the potential to contribute towards AI research and development that is focused on professional networking. It’s a plan that Elon Musk is currently implementing with his X social-media company, and Meta through Instagram, attempting to improve user engagement and advertising using artificial intelligence.

Recently, Microsoft made known its fresh AI products and services in its yearly developer conference. It includes a Copilot+ series of PCs, as well as Team Copilot for workplace chats and meetings in Microsoft Teams. However, there was no talk about a LinkedIn Copilot yet. The absence of this information causes us to ponder on the details of what is planned for LinkedIn by Microsoft and how it will change the professional networking process.

LinkedIn Copilot could provide personalized writing help, enhance sales and hiring processes, and possibly even give insights into trends for professional networking. But like any AI advancement, there are issues concerning privacy, security of data and proper use of AI in work-related areas.

What is your opinion? Are you enthusiastic about an AI-powered LinkedIn experience, or are you uncertain regarding the consequences of this technology? Microsoft’s step to combine AI with LinkedIn seems quite daring and it will be fascinating to observe its progress.
