Microsoft Purview AI hub

Microsoft Purview will get an AI hub that is generally available to all admins. The new AI hub rebranded to Microsoft Purview Data Security Posture Management for AI (DSPM for AI), will offer many capabilities to support admins in managing AI policies created to handle Purview solutions.

In a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant says this new AI hub will act as a centralized location to gain insights into generative AI activity. Admins will also get insights regarding sensitive data poured into AI prompts for Copilot and other non-Microsoft AI applications in the 365 Suite.

Here’s what the entry says:

Microsoft Purview AI Hub is released to general availability. Along with this release, the name has been rebranded to Microsoft Purview Data Security Posture Management for AI (DSPM for AI) and capabilities have been added that include supporting admin units, displaying AI policies that were created in Purview solutions, and supporting additional AI apps. A version of DSPM for AI is also available to additional licensing, specifically Microsoft 365 E3 and Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses. The AI hub in Microsoft Purview is a centralized location to gain insights into generative AI activity, including the sensitive data flowing in AI prompts, both for Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 and non-Microsoft AI applications.

This wouldn’t be the first time Microsoft introduced an AI hub to gain insight into AI usage. Earlier this year, the Redmond-based tech giant unveiled a Copilot usage report coming to the 365 Admin Center, with admins able to see exactly the rate of AI adoption within their companies.

Microsoft Purview is a platform specifically made to organize, manage, and keep data secure and safe, so adding an AI hub to gain insight into the potential leakage of classified information to AI is essential.

The tech giant will roll out a new AI hub in Microsoft Purview starting in December.
