Many users are wondering how to use Chrome Remote Desktop with multiple monitors, and this is simpler than you think. If you don’t know how to do this, follow the steps from this guide to see how to do it properly.
How do I use multiple monitors with Chrome Remote Desktop?
1. Change display settings
- Establish a remote connection.
- In your browser, click the arrow icon located on the right side.
- Settings menu will appear.
- Select which display you want to view. If you want to view multiple screens, choose Show all displays.
- Optional: Adjust the session options and ensure that both displays are properly visible.
2. Use keyboard shortcuts
- Click the arrow on the right side of the screen to open settings.
- Select Configure keyboard shortcuts.
- Set Keyboard shortcuts to enabled.
- Next, click on Change to set up a modifier key.
After doing that, you should be able to use the following shortcuts:
- Modifier key + 0 – show all displays
- Modifier key + Left or Right arrow – switch to previous or next display
- Modifier key + 1 or 2 – switches to display no.1 or no.2
How do I change the display in Chrome Remote Desktop?
As shown above, you can do that from the display settings once you start a remote session, but for ease of access, we would use keyboard shortcuts instead.
As you can see, it’s pretty simple to set up Chrome Remote Desktop to work with multiple monitors and you can do it right from the session settings.
If this option isn’t working properly for you, you can try using Chrome Remote Desktop alternatives instead. If you’re an advanced user, you might be interested in using Chrome Remote Desktop in Guest Mode.
