Copilot is already available in Outlook, and you can summarize emails, schedule meetings, and ask the AI model to compose follow-ups; however, it seems that the Redmond-based tech giant is thinking about taking things a bit further.
You’ll soon be able to use Copilot to summarize email attachments in Outlook on the Web and the new Outlook for Windows. According to a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, this new enhancement will be coming to the platform in March 2025.
Here’s what Microsoft says:
You will now be able to summarize PDF, Word, and PowerPoint email attachments with Copilot in Outlook on the web and new Outlook for Windows. #newoutlookforwindows
Why does this matter? Well, it saves users a lot of time. You no longer need to read each document thoroughly, especially if you’re in a hurry. You can take a single look and let Copilot come up with a summary of that document.
If you don’t know how to ask Copilot to do that, you’ll soon be able to access the Copilot Prompt Gallery app, which is a new hub that centralizes Copilot prompts for all Microsoft 365 apps.
