PS Plus January 2026 Lineup: "Essential" Games to Drop on Dec. 31, Four Leaving "Extra" on Jan. 20
Sony is expected to reveal the PS Plus Essential games for January 2026 on December 31, but the company has yet to confirm any titles. There are also no reliable leaks pointing to what’s coming next month. However, PlayStation Plus fans on Reddit have started spotting early signs of changes coming to the service.
According to users on the PlayStation Plus subreddit, the Japanese PlayStation Store currently lists four games set to leave PS Plus Extra on January 20, 2026. While Sony hasn’t officially acknowledged the removals, store listings often preview upcoming catalog changes.
The four games reportedly leaving PS Plus Extra are Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Monopoly Plus, Sayonara Wild Hearts, and SD Gundam Battle Alliance. If this is true, players have just a few weeks left to finish or try these titles before they exit the service.
Meanwhile, PS Plus members should also note that the December 2025 Essential games must be claimed by January 5. That lineup includes LEGO Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada, and Neon White. December stood out as an unusually strong month, offering five Essential games instead of the usual three.
PS Plus Extra also had a standout December, adding Red Dead Redemption Remaster and Skate Story as day-one releases. With January approaching, attention now turns to whether Sony can keep that momentum going into 2026.
