HP's New OmniBook Ultra 14 Redefines Laptops at CES 2026 with Snapdragon X2 Elite
HP has kicked off CES 2026 with a complete refresh of its consumer-focused OmniBook laptops, and without a doubt, the new lineup is impressive. While the company announced multiple devices across five series, one laptop in particular, the new HP OmniBook Ultra 14, stands out among the rest for obvious reasons.
The OmniBook Ultra 14 boasts a thinner, lighter, and more durable design. HP claims that the laptop is 52% lighter than its predecessor and 5% slimmer than the 2025 MacBook Air 13 (M4). Durability is another key highlight of this laptop, as it has passed 20 MIL-STD-810 tests. In short, HP is promising a rugged build for everyday use.
Moving on, the new HP OmniBook Ultra 14 comes with a redesigned keyboard along with the company’s haptic touchpad and a brighter OLED display. All combined offers a premium look and feel of the flagship. Under the hood, the Ultra 14 packs serious performance.
HP notes that the laptop comes with a Qualcomm and Intel chipset, with the Qualcomm variant boasting an HP-exclusive Snapdragon X2 Elite processor. That chip comes with an 18-core CPU running at 5.0GHz and an 85 TOPS NPU to handle demanding AI workloads. Meanwhile, Intel Core Ultra and AMD Ryzen 400 options will also be available across the refreshed lineup.
Other OmniBook series, like the value-packed 3- and 5-series, start at around $500 and are expected in February, while premium 7- and X-series laptops will arrive later in Spring. The OmniBook Ultra 14 itself is expected later this month, with a starting price of roughly $1,550, including the Snapdragon variant.
