Slay the Spire 2 Brings Co-Op Runs to Early Access on Windows
Gaming news stays busy after Ubisoft confirmed an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake and Capcom reported Resident Evil Requiem passed 5 million sales in its first week.
Now, indie fans can jump into Slay the Spire 2, which starts its Early Access journey today on Windows PC.
Slay the Spire 2 Early Access launches today on PC
According to Polygon, Developer Mega Crit set March 5, 2026 as the Early Access launch date for Slay the Spire 2, with the release locked to PC via Steam at the start.
The studio also frames the sequel as a return to the tower after a long dormancy, with new threats and new discoveries across fresh climbs.
Co-op multiplayer leads the headline features
Mega Crit says Slay the Spire 2 lets up to four players team up in a new co-op mode, including multiplayer-focused cards and team synergies.
The developers also plan to expand and rebalance content throughout Early Access, adding more cards, events, environments, and enemies as the build evolves.
Slay the Spire 2 keeps the core solo roguelike deck-building loop while adding several new mechanics designed to shake up decision-making during a run:
- Enchantments that add buffs and modify cards as you play
- Enemy card afflictions that apply negative effects directly to your cards
- Quest cards that introduce run objectives and progression hooks
