Claude AI Down for Thousands Right Now, Anthropic Confirms Outage
If you are facing issues with Claude right now, you must know that it’s not just you. Thousands of users are reportedly facing issues with the AI assistant. At the time of writing this, Downdetector shows over 1,700 user reports. So, it’s obvious that users are still facing issues with Claude right now. We’ll update this article as we hear updates from Anthropic.
According to the Claude status page, the company first acknowledged the issue around 14:44 UTC on March 11, 2026, when the team said it had begun investigating reports of errors affecting Claude.ai.
While details remain limited, the disruption appears to be impacting normal interactions with the AI assistant. Shortly after the initial update, Anthropic confirmed that users are also facing login and logout issues in Claude Code. The update, posted at 14:47 UTC, suggested that authentication systems related to the platform may be experiencing instability.
In the third update at 15:27 UTC, Anthropic mentioned that the team is still investigating the issue. As of now, the company has not shared a timeline for a fix or confirmed the root cause of the errors. This isn’t the first time Anthropic’s AI assistant has faced a widespread issue this month. Earlier this month, Claude users faced issues with the AI assistant for two days straight.
In the latest update at 15:44 UTC, Anthropic has confirmed that it is “currently investigating issues with Claude Code and Claude.ai. Some users may be unable to log in, and others may experience slower than usual performance. The Claude API is not affected.”
