ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition Gets Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date
Nintendo Switch 2 players finally have a date to mark on their calendars. After months of speculation, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have officially confirmed that Elden Ring is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 later this summer. The upcoming release lands as Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, a packed version of the award-winning RPG that bundles together the original adventure, the massive Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and brand-new content created specifically for this release.
Switch 2 players are getting more than just a port
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition releases on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28 and includes everything that helped turn the game into one of the biggest releases of the decade. Players will be able to explore both the Lands Between and the Realm of Shadow in a single package. However, FromSoftware isn’t stopping at simply bringing the existing game to new hardware.
The Tarnished Edition also introduces two completely new starting classes, additional armor sets, and new customization options for Torrent, the spectral steed that accompanies players throughout the adventure.
For those unaware, Elden Ring has surpassed 30 million copies sold worldwide and earned hundreds of Game of the Year nominations since its original launch. Despite that success, Nintendo players have largely watched from the sidelines while the game remained unavailable on the company’s platforms. Well, that changes later this year.
Bandai Namco has also confirmed that the newly introduced classes, armor, and Torrent customization features will also be available separately on PlayStation, XBOX, and PC platforms.
