Lords of the Fallen 2 stormed into Summer Game Fest 2026 with a fresh gameplay trailer. The new “Battle for Thorngar” titled trailer delivered a closer look at several of the sequel’s biggest upgrades while also confirming something fans have been waiting to hear. Lords of the Fallen 2 launches simultaneously across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in Fall 2026.

Katanas, Dragons, and a New Region steal the spotlight

While the trailer packed plenty of brutal combat, one of the standout reveals was Ysiguen, a new region inspired in part by Asian mythology. The area features towering pagodas, corrupted landscapes, and a gigantic lightning-charged dragon known as Lingao the Souring Storm. Visually, it looks very different from the gothic environments that dominated the 2023 game.

Another major addition is the katana weapon class. Fans had been requesting katanas since the first game’s launch, and CI Games has finally delivered. The studio also previously confirmed scythes, expanding the combat sandbox considerably compared to its predecessor.

The developer says Lords of the Fallen 2 is being built directly from player feedback gathered after the 2023 release. That feedback helped shape more than 70 post-launch updates for the original game, and many of those lessons now appear to be influencing the sequel’s core design.

Lords of the Fallen (2023) has now surpassed 2.5 million copies sold, giving CI Games a much stronger foundation heading into its next chapter. You can wishlist it now.
