RuneScape: Dragonwilds Switch 2 Release Date Confirmed, It's Coming This September
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 15, 2026, alongside PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with cross play. Set in the RuneScape universe, Dragonwilds is a survival RPG that takes players to the continent of Ashenfall, where they battle dragons, level up skills, complete quests, and uncover the region’s mysteries.
The game features 13 skills that can be leveled to 99, along with magic-based abilities that help with exploration, combat, and resource gathering.
Since entering Early Access in April 2025, Dragonwilds has received several major updates. December’s Fellhollow update introduced a new realm tied to Death, a dragon boss named Imaru, magical farming, and Terrorbird mounts. This was followed by March’s Dowdun Reach update, which added a new fortress region, Fishing, skill cap increases to level 99, Runecrafting improvements, and dedicated server support.
The next major update, Umbral Sands, will launch later this month. The expansion adds the largest region in the game so far, new equipment tiers, Infinity Robes, Red Dragonhide gear, the Fight Caves, and the Nightmare Crucible challenge.
Additional updates are also planned throughout Early Access. Jagex will introduce the Agility skill, new quests, more building and decoration options, and various quality-of-life improvements based on community feedback. The journey will ultimately lead to the Scorned Wilderness raid, where players will face Kuldra, the Dragon Queen.
