OpenAI has updated ChatGPT once again, and this time the focus is on features people use every day. The latest update for OpenAI’s AI assistant covers nearly every part of the experience across web, iOS, and Android, introducing new features for language learning, sports updates, app controls, and conversation management.

OpenAI updates ChatGPT with bunch of new fetures

One of the biggest additions is built-in pronunciation guidance. Users can now ask ChatGPT how to pronounce words in more than 60 languages and receive both text explanations and audio examples directly inside the conversation.

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 already underway, ChatGPT can now answer questions about schedules, teams, player matchups, country storylines, predictions, and potential tournament outcomes via a dedicated football experience.

Speaking of control, connected apps are getting more granular permission settings. Users can now decide whether ChatGPT should always ask before using an app, request approval only for important changes, or operate with fewer interruptions.

The web version is also receiving several quality-of-life improvements. Users can pin chats and projects directly from the sidebar, organize recent conversations by project, share chats with a single click, and turn highlighted responses into notes saved to their Library.

On iPhone, OpenAI says camera access and photo uploads are now noticeably faster. Meanwhile, Android users on paid plans can long-press the send button to select a different model for individual messages without changing their default settings. Not to forget, OpenAI also recently rolled out new scheduled tasks page for ChatGPT users.
