OpenAI Rolls Out New Scheduled Tasks Page for ChatGPT Users
OpenAI has expanded ChatGPT’s scheduled tasks feature with a new management hub, making it easier for users to view, edit, and control automated requests directly from the chatbot interface.
The update introduces a dedicated Scheduled page accessible from ChatGPT’s sidebar. The new section gives users a central location to manage all active tasks they have assigned to ChatGPT, including recurring requests, reminders, and monitoring jobs.
The rollout comes as OpenAI continues to add more autonomous features to ChatGPT ahead of the expected launch of GPT-5.6 and shortly after reports emerged that the company had filed paperwork related to a potential initial public offering (IPO).
ChatGPT Scheduled Tasks Get Dedicated Management Page
The new Scheduled page allows users to see every active task in one place. Users can check when a task is scheduled to run and make changes without having to revisit the original conversation where the task was created.
The page also includes controls that allow users to view all active scheduled tasks, check upcoming execution times, pause tasks temporarily, edit existing schedules, and delete scheduled requests.
The goal is to make automated workflows easier to manage as more users rely on ChatGPT for reminders, recurring summaries, and proactive information gathering.
Faster and More Reliable Task Execution
OpenAI says scheduled tasks have also become faster and more reliable.
Users can instruct ChatGPT to perform actions at a specific date and time, such as generating a report every Monday morning or sending a reminder before an upcoming event.
The system also supports broader time windows, allowing users to schedule tasks for general periods such as the morning, afternoon, or evening instead of specifying an exact time.
This flexibility allows ChatGPT to handle routine requests without requiring precise scheduling details.
Monitoring and Proactive Searches
One of the more advanced uses of scheduled tasks involves monitoring requests.
Users can ask ChatGPT to proactively search the web or connected applications and report back when relevant information becomes available. Examples include tracking product announcements, monitoring industry news, or watching for updates on a specific topic.
These capabilities move ChatGPT closer to functioning as a personal AI assistant that can complete tasks independently rather than waiting for users to initiate every interaction.
Availability
The updated scheduled tasks experience is rolling out to ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Pro, ChatGPT Business, and ChatGPT Enterprise users.
OpenAI has not announced when or if the feature will become available to Free users.
In related news, references to a potential ChatGPT for Science offering were recently spotted online, suggesting OpenAI may be exploring specialized experiences designed for research and scientific organizations.
OpenAI has not officially announced ChatGPT for Science, and details about the potential service remain limited.
