NVIDIA App Update Brings 240 FPS Recording to RTX GPUs
NVIDIA App 11.0.8 was recently released, and it introduces ShadowPlay recording at up to 240 FPS, new NVIDIA Surround controls, additional DLSS Override support, and several stability fixes.
ShadowPlay Now Supports 240 FPS Recording
NVIDIA has increased the maximum ShadowPlay recording frame rate to 240 FPS on supported GeForce RTX 40 Series and RTX 50 Series graphics cards.
The higher frame rate gives competitive gamers and content creators smoother source footage, particularly when recording fast-paced games on high-refresh-rate monitors.
Users can enable the option by opening the NVIDIA Overlay with Alt+Z and navigating to Settings > Video Capture.
New NVIDIA Surround Controls
The update adds two display management options for systems using NVIDIA Surround.
Users can now restrict the Windows taskbar to a single display instead of stretching it across the entire multi-monitor setup.
NVIDIA also added an option that allows applications to maximize across all connected displays. Both controls appear under System > Displays > Surround.
DLSS Override Support Expands to More Games
NVIDIA App 11.0.8 adds DLSS Override support for the following games and applications:
- ‘83
- Active Matter
- Bus Bound
- Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss
- Dawn of Defiance
- Far Far West
- INDUSTRIA 2
- MONGIL: STAR DIVE
- MOUSE: P.I. For Hire
- NTE (Neverness to Everness)
- PRAGMATA
- Samson
- Screamer
- Subliminal
- Sudden Strike 5
- Twinmotion
- Windrose
DLSS Overrides allow users to apply supported NVIDIA DLSS features and presets through the NVIDIA App when compatible options exist.
New Optimal Settings Profiles
NVIDIA has also added recommended graphics settings for several upcoming and recently released games:
- Cairn
- Crimson Desert
- DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH
- Marathon
- Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
- Nioh 3
- PRAGMATA
- Quarantine Zone: The Last Check
- Resident Evil Requiem
- The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin
- Windrose
The NVIDIA App can use these profiles to configure graphics settings based on the user’s hardware.
ShadowPlay and Stability Fixes
NVIDIA fixed an issue that could prevent ShadowPlay from recording games with special characters in their titles.
NVIDIA App 11.0.8 also includes several stability fixes designed to improve the application’s overall reliability.
In other NVIDIA news, the company has confirmed that Gears of War: E-Day will receive day-one DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing support. Reports also suggest that SteamOS could gain NVIDIA GPU support.
