Windows 11 Insider Beta (26H1) Improves Braille and Voice Access

Windows 11 Insider Beta 26H1 Preview Build 28020.2539 is now available with accessibility, Settings, Bluetooth, and sound improvements.

The update focuses mainly on Narrator, braille display support, Voice Access languages, and several smaller fixes designed to improve the overall Windows 11 experience.

Braille Displays Now Connect Instantly With Narrator

Microsoft has improved how braille displays work with Narrator in Windows 11.

Supported devices can now connect instantly, reducing the setup time required before users can begin navigating the operating system.

The build also adds support for HID-standard braille displays connected through USB or Bluetooth. These devices can now work during the Windows setup experience, also known as OOBE.

Users can customize braille input and output options under the Accessibility section of the Settings app.

Voice Access Adds Three New Languages

Voice Access now supports three additional language variants:

• Portuguese for Portugal
• Portuguese for Brazil
• Korean for South Korea

The expanded language support allows more users to control Windows and enter text using voice commands.

Bluetooth Quick Settings Supports Gamepad Navigation

Microsoft has added gamepad navigation support to the Bluetooth Quick Settings panel.

Users can now move through Bluetooth controls with a connected game controller instead of relying only on a keyboard, mouse, or touchscreen.

Graphics Settings Crash Fixed

Build 28020.2539 fixes an issue that could cause the Graphics Settings page to crash.

The update also includes a small collection of general improvements and fixes intended to improve Windows 11 stability and usability.

Dark Mode System Sounds Improved

Microsoft has adjusted system sounds when Windows runs in dark mode.

The company did not provide specific details about each sound change, but the improvements aim to create a more consistent experience when using the darker interface.

More Windows 11 Insider Builds Released

Microsoft has also released Windows 11 Insider Beta Preview Build 26220.8925 and Windows 11 Experimental Preview Build 26300.8935.

These releases target separate Windows Insider testing branches and include their own feature updates, fixes, and interface improvements.
