If you have been waiting to pre-order the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X20, it’s live now. As expected, the much-anticipated 20th anniversary gaming handheld model costs a premium $1,299 price. Whereas a much pricier bundle packs several matching accessories.

ROG Xbox Ally X20 finally hits pre-order

The ROG Xbox Ally X20 comes with a translucent black chassis and gold accents celebrating ROG’s 20-year gaming history. A green illuminated Xbox button also gives the handheld a distinct Xbox-inspired look.

The biggest hardware change is the new 7.4-inch OLED display. It supports 120Hz refresh rates, HDR, and FreeSync Premium Pro with 30Hz-120Hz VRR. The screen reaches up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness. ASUS also says its anti-reflection coating cuts environmental reflections by 65%.

Underneath, the handheld uses AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor. It also gets TMR joysticks, a redesigned transforming D-pad, and rubberized grips.

The $2,499 bundle is aimed at collectors

The more interesting option is the $2,499 ROG 20th Anniversary Bundle. It includes the X20, ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 AR Glasses, a dbrand Killswitch, and a custom Pelican case.

The R1 glasses feature Micro-OLED displays and can create a virtual 171-inch screen. They are also available separately for $799.

The X20 itself goes on sale October 15. The R1 Edition 20 glasses are scheduled to launch in mid-September. Regional pricing may differ. That pricing puts the X20 firmly into premium handheld territory. However, the combination of OLED hardware and Xbox-focused software could make it interesting.
