Xbox Insider Update Adds New Dashboard Achievement Counter and Profile Streak

A recent Xbox September Update fixed several console bugs, but Microsoft appears to have more Xbox changes in testing. A new Xbox Insider update has quietly introduced dashboard counters that provide additional information directly on the Home screen.

Some Xbox Insiders report seeing new counters above game tiles showing how many achievements they have unlocked in each title. Another counter displays how many of their friends are currently playing the game, making it easier to see activity without opening additional menus.

Microsoft has not officially detailed these dashboard changes, which suggests the company may still be testing them with a limited group of Xbox Insiders. As with other experimental Insider features, Microsoft could modify or remove them before a wider rollout.

Xbox profiles are getting a new streak counter

Some Xbox Insiders have also spotted a new streak counter on their player profiles. Microsoft has not explained what the streak tracks or what players need to do to increase it.

The wording resembles Microsoft’s existing Rewards streak system, raising the possibility that the new profile counter could connect to Microsoft Rewards. However, Microsoft has not confirmed any connection or explained which activities contribute to the streak.

For now, not much is known about either feature, but Microsoft could provide more details if the counters move beyond Insider testing.

In other Xbox news, the Xbox Free Play Days lineup has been revealed, while Xbox is asking players whether they still want physical disc support on Project Helix.
