Sony's PS5 Prism Collection Brings Transparent Controllers & Console Covers in 3 Fresh Colors
Sony has something fresh for your PS5 setup. The company has officially unveiled the Prism Collection, featuring see-through DualSense controllers and matching console covers. Inspired by the transparent gaming hardware trend of the late 1990s, the new lineup arrives in three striking colors.
Sony’s Prism Collection gives PS5 accessories a fresh look
The new Prism Collection includes Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray designs. Sony says the transparent finishes offer a closer look at the craftsmanship behind its accessories while maintaining the PS5’s modern aesthetic.
The Flare Orange version brings a vibrant, glossy appearance, while Emerald Green offers a deeper finish. Graphite Gray, meanwhile, keeps things more understated with a cool-toned, transparent design.
Speaking of the design, Sony’s Color, Material, and Finish team says the collection aims to revive the iconic see-through trend in a more modern form. The glossy finish also extends across the back of each DualSense controller, revealing more of its internal design.
Pricing, preorder dates, and availability
Sony will sell the Prism Collection DualSense controllers for $84.99 each in the United States. Matching PS5 console covers will cost $74.99. Actual retailer pricing and availability may vary by region.
Preorders open on November 10, 2026, at 10 AM local time through PlayStation Direct where available and participating retailers. US buyers can preorder directly through PlayStation starting at 7 AM PT. The collection launches on February 4, 2027, although exact release dates may vary by country.
Sony has also confirmed that console covers will be sold directly through PlayStation in supported regions, with limited quantities available through select retailers elsewhere. For players who miss transparent gaming hardware, these accessories offer a modern take on a familiar design. However, the premium pricing means the new look comes at an extra cost.
