1. Create a new administrator account

3. Copy the missing expansion files

- Navigate to Contents > Resources > AddOns.
- Locate the expansion that’s not working, right-click it, and choose Show Package Contents.
- Go to Contents > Resources> Transgaming.
- Navigate to c_drive > Program Files> Electronic Arts.
- Locate the directory of the expansion that’s not working and Copy Usually, it’s Late Night or Ambitions.
- Go to Applications > Sims 3, right-click Sims 3, and choose Show Package Contents.
- Head over to Contents > Resources > AddOns.
- Now right-click the Sims 3 icon for the expansion that appears in your game launcher. For some, it’s Island Paradise but it might be different for you. Select Show Package Contents.
- Go to Contents > Resources> Transgaming > c_drive > Program Files> Electronic Arts.
- Paste the directory from Step 6
This is a slightly confusing process, but as long as you follow the instructions carefully you should be okay.
