Good news for all Age of Empires lovers out there: the game is going mobile and you can pre-register to get it on Google Play, or iOS, now.

The mobile version of this insanely popular RTS game is a collaboration between Microsoft and TiMi Studio Group, which is the largest video game developer and operator in the world, by revenue, according to Wikipedia.

The studio has a rich history of bringing popular video games to mobile devices, including games such as Call of Duty, Honor of Kings, Arena of Valor, and many more, and Age of Empires is the latest addition to that collection.

Wondering what the Age of Empires will look like on mobile devices? Well, Microsoft shared a first sneak peek in the form a teaser trailer, which you can see below.

For hardcore Age of Empires fans out there, there is also a deep dive into the developing side of the story, with developers explaining how they brought the popular video game to the mobile environment.

The game will be simply named Age of Empires Mobile and it will feature many gameplay mechanics already established in its classic versions. So, if you’ve played Age of Empires 2 in Windows 10, or Windows 11, you shouldn’t have any trouble understanding what you need to do on mobile devices.

Age of Empires Mobile is a mobile war strategy game where players will embark on an exhilarating adventure and forge unbreakable bonds with friends. Featuring rich real-time controls, stunning visuals and historical heroes on grand battlefields, this addition to the franchise has so much to offer. The game features elements from Age of Empires games, merged with brand-new and mobile-specific gameplay. You’ll engage in strategic resource management, develop unique technologies and train diverse armies to build and defend your kingdom.
