AMD’s 3D V-Cache design played a big role in its success, especially in CPU-limited games where extra cache helps stabilize frame times and ease memory strains. Those plus points don’t suddenly disappear just because a newer chip exists.

The arrival of the Ryzen 7 9850X3D reshuffles AMD’s gaming lineup. The new chip now holds the “best gaming CPU” title, but the performance gap over the 9800X3D is widely described as incremental rather than dramatic.
