The newest processor is built on the advanced Zen 5 architecture and features second-generation 3D V-Cache technology. It is designed to offer smoother, faster, and more responsive gaming experiences.

The Ryzen 7 9850X3D comes with eight high-performance cores and 16 threads, optimized for modern-day gaming workloads. AMD says the new processor delivers up to 27% better gaming performance compared with Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285K, underlining its push for leadership in enthusiast PC gaming. The large cache, combined with high clock speeds and low latency, will supposedly provide consistently smooth frame rates across a longer gaming session.

The 9000X3D Series continues AMD’s focus on performance-optimized gaming hardware, catering to enthusiasts seeking both speed and efficiency. With improvements in cache and core design, AMD aims to solidify its position in the high-end gaming CPU market.

The company has also noted that systems featuring the Ryzen 7 9850X3D will be available from major OEMs, system integrators, and retail partners starting Q1 2026. The processor carries a 120W TDP, making it compatible with a wide range of desktop configurations for gaming enthusiasts. Besides the aforementioned, AMD has also announced its Ryzen AI 400 Series processors and Ryzen AI Max+ 392 and 388 at the ongoing CES 2026 event.
