In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), a user (@ExperteVallah) leaked the alleged image of the AMD Zen 5 Ryzen Granite Ridge Desktop CPU. The shared image has a caption 8c16t, which indicates it will feature 8 cores and 15 threads. The alleged image showcases a standard AMD Ryzen CPU without an SKU identifier and QR which is covered intentionally.
Previously, the Einstein@Home and LHC@home databases showed entries of the AMD Zen 5 CPU. Interestingly, both the database entries hinted at a sample with 8 cores and 16 threads. However, the high-end Granite Ridge CPU could offer up to 16 cores and 32 threads. The entries also include an OPN ID of 100-000001290-11, similar to the one in the leaked image.
Wccftech, who first spotted the leak, mentioned that it has seen several AMD Zen 5 Granite Ridge Ryzen CPUs being shipped out in shipping manifestos.
Although there’s not much information about AMD’s Zen 5 core architecture for now. However, the CPU maker has officially said that it will offer the following:
- Integrated AI and Machine Learning optimizations
- Enhanced performance and efficiency
- Re-pipelined front-end and wide issue
Now that several details and images of AMD’s Zen 5 Ryzen Granite Ridge CPU samples are out online, there are chances that we might see the official launch in the upcoming Computex 2024 event.
