Anthropic Commits $100 Million Into Claude Frontier Academy to Train 10,000 AI Engineers
Anthropic is putting serious money behind the next stage of Claude adoption. The company has announced a $100 million commitment to train 10,000 engineers by the end of 2027 through its new Claude Frontier Academy.
Anthropic wants to build an army of Claude experts
The new program is focused on training what Anthropic calls Frontier Deployed Engineers, or FDEs. These engineers will be trained to take Claude from an initial idea to a working system inside businesses, including handling deployment, security reviews and production workloads.
Anthropic says the first cohorts already include engineers from major companies and consulting firms such as Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk.
The first program is a 12-week residency that follows a model similar to medical training. Engineers begin with hands-on training alongside Anthropic engineers, work through simulated enterprise deployments and then lead a real Claude project at their own organization. Those who pass the assessments can earn Anthropic’s Claude Frontier Deployed Engineer badge, with the first graduates expected in early 2027.
Cohorts are already running in San Francisco, New York and London, with Anthropic planning to expand the program toward its 10,000-engineer target by the end of 2027.
Anthropic is betting heavily on enterprise Claude
The $100 million commitment also shows how seriously Anthropic is treating enterprise adoption. The company says businesses are increasingly looking for people who can actually deploy and integrate AI rather than simply experiment with chatbots. Earlier this year, the company committed another $100 million to its Claude Partner Network, supporting training, technical assistance and market development for organizations helping businesses adopt Claude.
Anthropic has been making headlines beyond Claude itself, warning extensively about AI risks in its IPO prospectus while also expanding Claude’s reach through Sonnet 5.5 in Microsoft Foundry.
