Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Anthropic have announced some major partnerships that will expand Claude across Azure, expand hardware–model integration, and boost the development of future AI systems. The agreement places all three companies at the center of the next phase of large-scale AI deployment.

First of all, Anthropic says it’ll scale its fast-growing Claude models on Microsoft Azure, powered by NVIDIA’s newest systems. The company has committed to purchase $30 billion in Azure compute capacity and may contract up to one gigawatt of additional resources.

NVIDIA and Anthropic are also coming together, as part of a major engineering partnership for the first time. Both companies will collaborate on chip design, workload optimization, and new hardware improvements that can boost Anthropic’s performance, efficiency, and long-term costs. Anthropic’s compute commitment includes up to one gigawatt of compute built on NVIDIA Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems.

Microsoft is expanding its existing partnership with Anthropic as well. Customers using Microsoft Foundry will have access to Anthropic’s frontier lineup, including Claude Sonnet 4.5, Opus 4.1, and Haiku 4.5. Meanwhile, Claude will continue powering features inside GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio. With this expansion, Claude becomes the only frontier model available across all three major cloud providers.

NVIDIA and Microsoft are also backing Anthropic financially. NVIDIA plans to invest up to $10 billion, while Microsoft will contribute up to $5 billion to support Anthropic’s long-term roadmap. Despite the expanded Azure partnership, Anthropic notes that Amazon remains Anthropic’s primary cloud provider and core training partner.
