Assassin's Creed Shadows Update Adds PSSR 2 And Gameplay Fixes
Ubisoft just dropped its new patch for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Title update 1.1.10 brings several welcome additions across multiple platforms. While the patch handles the usual batch of bug fixes, it also introduces major hardware-specific features for console players. Whether you play on the newest PlayStation or a handheld system, the developer added new ways to control the action and improve the graphics.
There are major visual upgrades and fresh weapons
The biggest technical change in this update focuses on the PlayStation 5 Pro. Ubisoft added official support for PSSR 2. This new upscaling technology allows the game to run at higher frame rates while keeping the picture looking sharp. You can expect smoother performance when exploring crowded cities or engaging in fast combat. The company did not detail its exact visual targets, but early reports show a noticeable bump in overall image quality.
Alongside the visual tweaks, the patch unlocks a new weapon type for everyone. Previously, players had to own the Claws of Awaji expansion to use the Bo staff. Now, any player can find these long wooden weapons while exploring the map. Once you unlock a unique version, standard variations will drop from enemies and appear in regular loot chests. It gives you a reason to test a different fighting style without spending extra money.
The update is bringing the mouse and keyboard to the Switch 2
Nintendo players also received an update to how they play the game. The Nintendo Switch 2 version now features full mouse and keyboard support. This is a rare addition for a console system, giving you the precision of a desktop computer. If you struggle with standard thumbsticks during tricky stealth sections, you can plug in your accessories and play exactly how you want.
The rest of the patch cleans up lingering issues. The development team fixed a bug that stopped players from using fast travel points. It also repaired the detailed stat sheet so damage numbers display correctly. You can download the patch right now across all platforms.
